Friends of Bridekirk Dovenby School
£10,000

Project Overview

Friends of Bridekirk Dovenby School were awarded £10,000 to utilise a previously underused area on the grounds of the school to create a Sensory Garden.

The garden will be designed to connect people with nature and create a versatile and accessible space where pupils, staff, families and local community groups can explore the outdoors.

“The Friends of Bridekirk Dovenby School were thrilled to receive Community Investment Funding to help in the creation of a Sensory Garden. The garden will be accessible and inclusive, utilising a previously underused area within the school grounds to create a small but versatile space for pupils, staff, families and community groups to explore and connect with nature. The project will benefit local people as well as the school community. We are grateful to the Allerdale GDF Community Partnership who have helped make this possible by awarding grant funding and provided excellent support throughout the application process.”

– Rose Rowland, Joint Vice Chair
