Hospice at Home West Cumbria
£63,564.70

Project Overview

Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides high quality, palliative and end of life care to people living in West Cumbria.

They were awarded £63,564.70 for their Family and Bereavement Services project which will deliver a range of emotional wellbeing and bereavement services for adults who have a life limiting illness, and support for their carers and families.

Support will be delivered through carefully developed individualised plans. Service-users may benefit from receiving a number of different types of support including one-to-one sessions which enable people to talk through worries, concerns, and anxieties; group sessions for individuals to talk with others in similar circumstances, and to give and receive support; and complementary therapies to provide a soothing period away from challenging times.

Hospice at Home West Cumbria must raise over £1.2 million each year to maintain and develop its services.  Less than a quarter of their annual income comes from the NHS and therefore the remainder needs to be raised from voluntary donations, fundraising activities, shops and legacies.
