Kirkgate Arts is an entertainment and cultural venue at the heart of Cockermouth which celebrates local talent and heritage and brings top quality professional entertainment to the area.
They were awarded £18,747 for a consultation project to identify how underrepresented groups can be encouraged to attend theatrical shows and workshops. New approaches developed from the findings would involve programming into new venues like schools and other community venues, or for groups who have specific access issues to have the shows or workshops brought to them, with a view to delivering nine shows or workshops over an 18 months period.
