The Centre, West Cumbria Ltd were awarded £49,805 towards their phase 2 organisational development.
The project will allow The Centre in Maryport to employ two professionals for an 18-month period in order to undertake business critical activities to secure the long-term future of The Centre by building on its work to date.
The Centre will recruit a business professional (an 18 month post) to create plans that generate sufficient financial support for The Centre to reinvest and generate long term economic benefit into the community. Their role will include researching appropriate business opportunities, setting business goals, creating bespoke income generation strategies
They will also appoint a community engagement post (for 18-months) who will generate support from the community for plans. The role would enhance post lockdown re-engagement with local residents, re-engagement with local support and services that will benefit residents, and with community groups and buildings.
