Project Overview
West Cumbria Care & Support were awarded £6,100 towards feasibility work for the development of Curwen Hall Walled Garden.
The development will provide a base for their existing social enterprises to come together for the benefit of both the community and those they support. By utilising the existing buildings within the walled garden, they will retain and develop their pottery studio and expand the shop. This will create an area that will allow the people they support to relax and train with social spaces, classrooms and a commercial kitchen that will utilise the ingredients grown in the kitchen garden. The external area will be used as a growing space for flowers, plants, fruits and vegetables with additional space for community and school groups.
