Project Overview
West Cumbria Domestic Violence Support are the only organisation offering free, long-term, community-based support for victims of domestic abuse in West Cumbria, where rates of domestic abuse are five per cent above the national average. Referrals to their service are increasing and over 22 years they have supported over 10,000 individuals.
The charity has been awarded £116,749 to fund continuation and increase the capacity of the ‘Freedom Project’ within the Allerdale GDF Community Partnership Search Area for 18 months. The funding will enable the team to continue the level of support they currently provide whilst making sure they can support increasing demands for their services which include:

The line is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm and is manned by a trained volunteer. If the volunteer is unable to answer your questions, she will try to find out for you or signpost you to other support providers.
